Apolakkia Lake
A still lake among pine hills, far from the beach crowds.
Above the village of Apolakkia, a dam holds back a long reservoir lake in a valley of pine and olive. It's an unexpected sight on a dry island, and a peaceful place for a walk.
What to do
- Walk along the shore and over the dam
- Look out for water birds, especially in spring and autumn
- Bring a picnic and plenty of water
