When to visit Rhodes
Warm water from June to October, quiet lanes in spring and autumn.
Rhodes is one of the sunniest places in Greece, and the season is long. Which month suits you depends on what you want from the trip.
April and May
Green hills, wildflowers and mild days, good for walking and sightseeing. The sea is still cool for most swimmers.
June
Long days, warm sea and fewer people than high summer. One of the best months to come.
July and August
Hot, lively and busy. The meltemi wind blows from the north, keeping the heat bearable and making Prasonisi a kitesurfer's paradise. Butterfly Valley is at its fullest.
September and October
The sea is at its warmest, the crowds thin out and the grapes come in around Embonas. Arguably the best time of all.
Winter
Quiet and green, with many resort businesses closed. Rhodes Town and the villages carry on as normal.
